IMPORTANT: Please read all the way through and follow the steps below in order to ensure your application is complete and received. Simply clicking the “APPLY” button from this website does not complete the application process. It is your responsibility to make sure you have completed all of the required application materials that are necessary for your Study Abroad program.

Create an Online Account

Whether you are just interested in studying abroad or you are ready to apply for your program, it is beneficial to create an online account so that we can notify you of upcoming events and important deadlines!

• Click on Create Account
• Fill in all of the relevant fields
• Make sure to use your Bridgewater State email
• Please choose a major most similar to your own, it does not have to be a perfect match
• Choose a secure password
  

Search for a Study Abroad Program

There are a couple of ways that you can search for a program. Either, use the interactive map feature to search by region and country, or use the Advanced Search function on the left navigational menu.

Search by Country

Using the interactive map allows you to search by a region and country of interest.

• Select a world region, and when the map zooms in, choose an available country
  
• Choosing a country will take you to that country’s description page which provides a brief overview of that country and shows you the available study abroad programs there
  
• In order to view more detailed information about your program of interest, simply click on the link provided.
  
• Remember, if you are interested in applying for an Affiliated Program, you will need to return to the Bridgewater Study Abroad Office Program page and click the “Apply” button BEFORE applying to that program directly

Advanced Search

You can also search by Program Type, Term, or a variety of other search parameters using either the left navigational menu or the Advanced Search function

• Program Types will allow you to select programs that are either:
• BSU Programs, such as our Travel Courses, our Exchange partners, and our direct enroll opportunities
• Affiliate Programs, operated by are partners such as ISA, CIS, API, etc. Hint: You can also search by Provider in the Advanced Search if you already know who you want to use
• Searching by Program Term will allow you to see programs offered only in the term that you are looking to go abroad
• Searching by Major can be helpful, but is sometimes misleading, you can use it to get a sense of what programs may offer courses in your major, but we don’t recommend it as your only search parameter
  

Apply for a Program

IMPORTANT! No matter what program you are applying for, you MUST apply first through the BSU Study Abroad Office using the account you created. Once you have been approved by our office you can follow any of the next steps for your particular program application.

• Log in to your BSU Study Abroad account
  
• Find the program that you’ve decided to apply to by using the search functions described above
  
• Click on the “Apply” link next to the program name
  
• Complete the application entirely by filling out all of the "Application Forms" listed under "Online Forms."
• If you do not have a scanner at home for some of the required documents, feel free to come in to the office; we are happy to scan items on your behalf
• Non-Degree students should contact our office for further instructions.
  

Important Notes

• Please only apply to ONE program per term. If for some reason you are not approved, we will work with you, whenever possible, to help you apply for a different program.
  
• If you want to change your application to another program, please call us and let us switch it for you. If you try to do it in the system, you will end up having to redo the entire application
  

Next Steps

• After you are notified by the Study Abroad Office that you have been approved for your program, you will need to follow the detailed instructions in our Next Steps Email. If you fail to complete all of necessary steps, you may not be able to participate in your study abroad program
