Course Description
China nowadays incorporates incredible high-tech in people's every day lives. Various areas of STEM topics and fields are needed to provide these high tech tools. Students will connect areas of their major/expertise to STEM & high tech in China. Furthermore, they will improve their knowledge and experience of the high tech applications, such as mobile payment systems, high speed trains, facial recognition systems, and so on, in China. Students will also learn the use of mathematics, statistics, data science, and computer science associated with high tech in China. Students are encouraged to use their background knowledge in their discipline, combined with the information collected through observations, and identify focus areas for analyzing the data collected or searched for on high tech in China. Finally, students also have the opportunity to examine the attributes of Chinese culture, cultural diversity, and cultural identity development and experience the two different side of Chinese culture: ancient and modern.
